I started my cycling journey 3 years ago, and it has been an incredible experience filled with challenges, growth, and unforgettable moments. When I first started, even daily commuting felt like an uphill battle. There were times when exhaustion made me question whether I should continue, but my determination always pushed me forward.
As I progressed, I encountered numerous hurdles—be it unpredictable weather, physical exhaustion, or self-doubt. However, I refused to let these obstacles define me. I believed that perseverance and passion could turn the impossible into reality. Over time, my endurance improved, and I began setting more ambitious goals.
One of the most defining moments of my journey was my ride from Dharwad to Dhanushkodi—a test of both my physical and mental strength. Covering such a vast distance across diverse terrains was not easy. There were moments when fatigue threatened to overpower me, but the sheer thrill of pushing my limits kept me going. Cycling through bustling cities, quiet villages, and scenic coastal roads, I realized how much this journey had shaped me—not just as a cyclist, but as a person.
What made this journey even more special was the incredible team spirit I experienced. Riding alongside my very own team members, Yogesh and Narasimha Joshi, made a huge difference. They were not only exceptional cyclists but also incredibly supportive companions. Their experience, encouragement helped me push through some of the toughest stretches. Whether it was tackling long inclines, enduring fatigue, or simply keeping morale high, they were always there—motivating, guiding, and ensuring that we moved forward as a team.
Joining the HBC Cycling Club was another turning point. It gave me a platform to learn from experienced riders and challenge myself even further. The shared experiences within the cycling community fueled my passion.
Before registering for my first formal race, I had already conquered several endurance rides. However, completing that first official event was a surreal moment—a culmination of years of dedication, discipline, and resilience.
Looking back, I am amazed at how far I have come. From struggling to ride short distances to confidently conquering 300, 400, and even 600 km stretches, this journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. Cycling has not only made me physically stronger but has also taught me the values of patience, perseverance, and self-belief.
With every ride, I discover something new about myself. My journey is far from over, and I look forward to many more miles, new challenges, and experiences that will continue to shape me.
