EIOB Third Edition Successfully Completed – A Historic Ride from Dharwad to Dhanushkodi

The Explore India On Bicycle (EIOB) Third Edition has successfully concluded, marking yet another milestone in the journey of endurance cycling. Covering an awe-inspiring 1111 kilometers from Dharwad to Dhanushkodi, this relay ride saw the participation of 30 riders across 10 dedicated teams, pushing the limits of human endurance, teamwork, and spirit.

An Event to Remember

The event kicked off on January 24, 2025, at 6:00 AM from KCD Circle, Dharwad, with an electrifying flag-off attended by cycling enthusiasts, supporters, and dignitaries. Over the course of three days, riders pedaled through diverse landscapes, from bustling cities and serene villages to coastal highways, each turn offering an unforgettable experience.

One of the most remarkable highlights of this edition was the participation of two incredible women riders, who showcased their determination and strength in this grueling endurance ride. Their presence was a testament to the growing inclusivity in long-distance cycling, inspiring more women to take on similar challenges.

The Relay Format – A Test of Teamwork and Strategy

Unlike traditional ultra-cycling events, the EIOB Third Edition was structured as a relay ride, allowing each team to strategically cover the distance. With three riders per team and a dedicated support vehicle, the format ensured that each participant contributed equally while navigating through varied terrains.

Each rider had to complete a minimum of 111 kilometers in 6 hours, testing their stamina, discipline, and ability to work in sync with their teammates. With proper hydration, strategic pit stops, and high morale, all teams crossed the finish line in Dhanushkodi with victorious smiles and a deep sense of accomplishment.

Celebrating the Spirit of Endurance and Exploration

This ride was more than just a cycling event—it was a journey filled with camaraderie, adventure, and self-discovery. From the lush greenery of Karnataka to the breathtaking coastal roads of Tamil Nadu, the changing landscapes served as a perfect backdrop for this thrilling expedition.

A special thanks to the organizing team, volunteers, sponsors, and support crews, whose relentless efforts made this event a grand success. Without their coordination, logistical support, and motivation, this dream ride wouldn’t have been possible.

Looking Ahead – What’s Next for EIOB?

With three successful editions completed—

Delhi to Wagah (555 km) dedicated to Indian Farmers and the Border Security Force,

Delhi to Srinagar (835 km) dedicated to Differently Abled Children, and

Dharwad to Dhanushkodi (1111 km) setting new benchmarks—

EIOB is now looking ahead to its Fourth Edition, promising yet another extraordinary journey that will continue to push the boundaries of endurance cycling.

If you missed this edition, stay tuned! The next adventure awaits, and we invite all passionate cyclists to be part of the upcoming rides. Keep pedaling, keep exploring, and keep inspiring!

Kudos to all the riders!

A huge round of applause to the 30 riders who gave their best, and a special salute to the two women riders who stood tall among endurance champions. Your journey has inspired many, and we can’t wait to see more participation in the future editions.
